Church in Reykjavik
Hallgrimskirkja is Reykjavik’s landmark church, its concrete facade inspired by basalt column formations. Free to enter the nave. The tower elevator is paid at a small fee and offers views over the colorful rooftops and the surrounding mountains and sea. The Leif Erikson statue in front is free. Budget travelers visit the church for free and pay the tower fee for the only elevated viewpoint in a city with no other tall buildings.

Laugavegur is Reykjavik's main shopping and nightlife street, a short, colorful strip of cafes, design shops, vintage stores, and bars. Free to walk.
Nautholsvik is an artificial geothermal beach in Reykjavik where hot water is pumped into a lagoon, creating a warm swimming spot on the edge of the Atlantic. Free in summer (small fee in winter).
