Girona Cathedral has the widest Gothic nave in the world (22 meters), reached by a monumental Baroque stairway of 90 steps from the Placa de la Catedral. Entry is paid at a modest price (includes the cloister and museum). The stairway and the exterior are free. Budget travelers climb the steps for free, photograph the facade, and decide whether the interior record-holding nave justifies the ticket.
