Cave in Nottingham
A network of over 500 sandstone caves beneath Nottingham, used for centuries as homes, workshops, tanneries, and air-raid shelters. Guided tours run from the Broadmarsh area. Entry is paid but reasonably priced, and the underground history is unlike anything else in England.

A ducal mansion perched on sandstone cliffs above the city, rebuilt on the site of the medieval castle linked to the Robin Hood legend. The museum and grounds are paid entry, but the surrounding park, cliff views, and statue of Robin Hood outside are free.
