Scenic route in Malaga
The path connecting the Alcazaba to the Gibralfaro Castle climbs through fortress walls and gardens with views over Malaga, the port, and the Mediterranean. Free to walk (castle entry is paid or included in combo ticket). The walk takes about 20 minutes uphill. Budget travelers who buy the Alcazaba ticket can walk up to the Gibralfaro for the best panoramic view in Malaga, or hike the path from the road for free and pay only the castle ticket at the top.

The Alcazaba is an 11th-century Moorish fortress-palace on a hillside above the city center, with terraced gardens, fountains, and views over the port and the Mediterranean. Entry is paid at a modest price (combined ticket with Gibralfaro Castle above).
Malaga's main pedestrian shopping street connecting the port area with Plaza de la Constitucion. Free to stroll, the 19th-century buildings on either side create an elegant corridor that is especially atmospheric during evening paseo.
