The Alameda de Cervantes is Soria’s main public park and one of the oldest urban gardens in Spain. Locals call it La Dehesa. Entry is free, and the shaded avenues, fountains, chapel, and bandstand make it the obvious place to slow down in a city that is already calm. The headline feature is the Árbol de la Música, the “Tree of Music,” an emblematic tree paired with an iron bandstand where the municipal band once played.
For budget travelers this is an easy win: zero cost, central location, and a real glimpse of local life rather than a ticketed attraction. The park sits right next to Plaza Mariano Granados and links the old-town squares like Plaza Mayor Soria with the riverside path out to the Hermitage of San Saturio. Combine all of them on foot and you can spend a full, free day in Soria.
