Lac Blanc
An alpine lake at 2,352 metres reflecting the Mont Blanc massif, reached by a free hike from the Flegere lift station or a longer trail from the valley. One of the most photographed mountain lakes in the Alps.
Mer de Glace
France's largest glacier, reached by the historic Montenvers rack railway from Chamonix centre. The viewpoint above the glacier is a sobering lesson in climate change with visible annual retreat markers.
