Town in Slovenia

Kobarid

3 things to see

A small Soca Valley town in Slovenia where the emerald river draws kayakers and the WWI museum documents the Battle of Caporetto that reshaped the First World War’s Italian front. The real budget draw is the outdoors: hiking trails, swimming in the river pools, and riverside paths all cost nothing beyond the effort, and waterfalls like the Kozjak falls are reachable on foot from town. Late spring and early autumn are quieter and cheaper than peak summer. Easy to combine with Bled or a day across the border to Trieste.
