Corfu

2 things to see

Corfu’s old town is a UNESCO-listed maze of Venetian and British colonial architecture, with free beaches around the island and affordable Greek tavernas once you leave the resort strips. Wandering the old town lanes and the seafront esplanade costs nothing, and the public beaches stay free even where sunbeds are not. Renting a scooter or using local buses keeps island exploring cheap, and the shoulder months of late spring and early autumn bring lower prices than the July and August peak.
